DUBLIN, Ireland – July 5, 2012 — PopCap Games, a division of EA and maker of some of the world’s most popular games, today announced that a zombie from the award-winning video game Plants vs. ZombiesTM will enter the British 10K to raise money for SpecialEffect, the UK charity dedicated to helping young people with disabilities enjoy computer games and creative technologies.
The 12th annual British 10K takes place in London on Sunday July 8, and the zombie will join over 25,000 runners in a route that will take in some of the world’s most iconic landmarks, including Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, the London Eye and St Paul’s Cathedral.
Putting aside its fascination for ‘brainz’, the zombie will be shambling through London for charity and is looking for donations from the living, the undead… and yes, even plants. Members of the public can show their support for the zombie by donating through the official JustGiving page at www.justgiving.com/RunZombieRun or simply texting PVZ099 £2 or PVZ099 £5 to 70070.

Plants vs. Zombies challenges you to defend your house from encroaching zombies before they make their way to your front door. Choose from an ever-increasing assortment of specialised, zombie-battling plants that will help you to slow down, confuse, weaken, and ultimately destroy the vegetation-munching fun-dead moving across your lawn. Quick and strategic placement of plants and other resources, like peashooters, sunflowers, cherry bombs, and wall-nuts, is critical to crushing the legions of zombies, each with its own combination of skills and behaviours.
